Why this matters
Graduation is the end of the formal program, not the end of the support system. Staying connected — as a resource and as a contributor — is part of what makes long-term success sustainable, for you and for the people coming up behind you.
Reality check: Independence doesn’t mean isolation. The strongest long-term outcomes come from graduates who stay loosely connected to a support network, even after they no longer need day-to-day structure.

Scenario
A graduate faces a hard week two years after leaving the program. Because they stayed loosely connected — a text to a mentor, an alumni event attended last spring — reaching out for support feels natural instead of like starting over from nothing.
